OUR STORY

The Story Behind EatWithoutWorry

When co-founder Sakura traveled for vacation, her family struggled to find restaurants that were safe for her food allergies. They used Spokin, an app with allergy-friendly restaurant reviews, to help find safe dining options.
This experience inspired Sakura and fellow food allergy advocate Ashley to create EatWithoutWorry, a platform designed to help people discover safer restaurants with confidence.

Meet Our Team

Sakura Murase

Co-founder/Co-leader
Hi! I’m Sakura Murase, a food allergy advocate managing over 10 life-threatening food allergies. I’ve been advocating with Food Allergy Research & Education (FARE) since 2021, and after attending my first FARE Summit in 2022, I met Ashley, another food allergy advocate, and co-launched EatWithoutWorry. I’m passionate about expanding access, awareness, and education so people with food allergies can eat out safely and confidently.

Ashley Shinohara

Co-founder/Co-leader
Hi, my name is Ashley Shinohara. I am allergic to dairy, eggs, all nuts, shellfish, mustard, and mango. I have been involved with the Food Allergy Research and Education (FARE) community since I was a kid. and later on joined FARE’s Teen Advisory Group in 2022. In that same year, Sakura and I met and created EatWithoutWorry, a site to help people find food allergy safe restaurants in their area.

Maelys Kerherve

Co-leader
My name is Maelys Kerherve, and while I don't personally have food allergies, I am surrounded by people I love who do. That proximity has shaped how I show up — from mastering the nuances of gluten-free baking to contributing to EatWithoutWorry. I’m always ready to be active within my community and find ways to creatively make the world more accessible to all.

Josephine Oliver

Hi! I'm Josephine Oliver, and I'm proud to be part of EatWithoutWorry. I got involved because I genuinely love supporting my community, something I carry into everything I do, whether that's coaching skiing and soccer or working with kids as a babysitter and travel nanny. Food should bring people together, and I'm passionate about making sure everyone can be part of that!
